Eligibility
Any employer who has eligible employees working in the Queensland building and construction industry can participate in the B.E.R.T. Fund.
Deed of Adherence
To participate, an employer must complete and sign the Deed of Adherence form found in the Administration Guide for Employers.
To complete the deed:
- Ensure the details on the front page are complete including the employer's name, trading name, address and effective date that contributions to the Fund will commence.
- Indicate the pay day that the number of contribution weeks each month will be based on (eg. weekly, each Friday or Tuesday, etc.).
The computer system which produces the contribution advices will be altered to match your pay periods. - Ensure that contact details on the back of the form are complete. The address that is entered is the address to which all correspondence will be sent.
- Sign the back of the form as either:
- a company (your deed must have the company seal stamped on it), or
- a sole proprietor witih employees, or
- a partnership.
The Deed of Adherence is a legal document binding the employer to the provisions of the Trust Deed governing the B.E.R.T. Fund. The employer is then legally required to make monthly contribution payments to the Fund for each of its elible employees who are members of the B.E.R.T. Fund.
Contribution payments are to commence from the "Date of Effect" noted on the Deed of Adherence.
All details, including the "Contact" section, must be completed otherwise the deed will be rejected.
