Who is Eligible?

BERT

Anyone who works for an employer that has agreed to contribute to the Funds and is engaged in the following sectors of the building and construction industy:

  • Industrial, commercial or residential construction;
  • Civil engineering construction; and
  • Mechanical engineering construction;

and includes all service and maintenance associated or connected with or incidental to any of those forms of construction and also includes each and every one of those sectors or allied industries whether work is performed on-site or off-site.

Where contributions are made on a member's behalf on or after the 1st of April 2004, the new member will become a member of B.E.R.T. Fund No. 2.  Members who joined the B.E.R.T. Fund prior to the 1st of April 2004 will remain members of the original Fund until they claim their benefit and exit the Fund.

 


How do you Join?

To become a member of B.E.R.T. simply:

  1. Download the Member Application Form
  2. Read the Summary of Benefits and Conditions.  Be sure to retain a copy of this summary.  It provides answers to many of the questions you may have about the Funds. 
  3. Fill in the form with your details. Your original signature is required on the application.
  4. Mail to B.E.R.T. at PO Box 329 Spring Hill QLD 4004.
  5. Once payments have been received on your behalf, you shall receive a B.E.R.T. Membership Card in the mail.

There is no need to complete another application form if you change to another employer who contributes to the Funds or if you receive a redundancy or financial hardship benefit from the Funds.
