Who is eligible?

Anyone who works for an employer that has agreed to contribute to the Funds and is engaged in the following sectors of the building and construction industry:

• Industrial, commercial or residential construction;
• Civil engineering construction; and
• Mechanical engineering construction;

and includes all service and maintenance associated or connected with or incidental to any of those forms of construction and also includes each and every one of those sectors or allied industries whether work is performed on-site or off-site.

Where contributions are made on a member's behalf on or after the 1st of April 2004, the new member will become a member of B.E.R.T. Fund No. 2.  Members who joined the B.E.R.T. Fund prior to the 1st of April 2004 will remain members of the original Fund until they claim their benefit and exit the Fund.

How do you join?

To become a member of B.E.R.T simply:

• You automatically become a member of the fund when your employer submits your details and pays your first contribution. We do have a Member Application Form that you can complete if you would like to update your details, but it is not a requirement to complete this form to become a member. (The Membership Application Form will be available early 2012)
• Mail to BERT at PO Box 805 Spring Hill QLD 4004
• Once payments have been received on your behalf, you shall receive a BERT Membership Card in the mail
